IN VITRO
FERTILIZATION (IVF)
Consists of collecting a woman’s eggs and fertilizing them with sperm outside the woman’s body to obtain the most ideal conditions for the development of embryos.
WHAT IS IN VITRO
FERTILIZATION?
It is the result of the union of an egg and sperm outside the woman’s organism, either by placing the eggs in a sperm dilution (conventional in vitro) or by injecting a single sperm directly into the egg (ICSI), in an attempt to achieve fertilization (which happens in approximately 70% of the injected eggs), the embryos are then transferred into the uterus.
WHO IS IT RECOMMENDED FOR?
When there is an alteration in the Fallopian tubes (the muscle canals that connect the ovaries and the uterus).
If the patient’s partner has low sperm count.
If the patient’s suffers Endometriosis type II, III or IV.
Diminished ovarian reserve.
For cervical and immune factors.
If there is no explanation for the patient’s infertility.
If the patient opts to use donated eggs.
IVF PROCEDURE
PRICE PER ATTEMPT
Prices per IVF attempt:
- Follicular aspiration: includes operating room, anesthesiologist, egg retrieval, and patient recovery $2,500
- Ovum decumulation and sperm capacitation $500
- ICSI (injection of the sperm into each egg) $500
- Incubator cultivation up to day 5-6 (Time Lapse subject to availability) $500
- Embryo transfer back to the uterus $500
